Another option is the “Padma Express,” departing at 11:30 PM. Both arrive at Rajshahi Railway Station. Train tickets cost less than bus tickets but book early, especially in winter. Flights from Dhaka to Rajshahi by Novoair or Biman operate daily, taking about 50 minutes. The airport is 10 minutes from the city centre.
From Rajshahi, head to Puthia. Local buses leave from the bus stand near Zero Point. The trip takes about an hour. Buses run every 30 minutes until early evening. You can also hire a CNG auto-rickshaw or a private car. A CNG costs around 800 to 1000 BDT for a one-way trip. Negotiate the fare beforehand.
Puthia Temple Complex Layout and Entry
The complex is open from sunrise to sunset. There is no entry fee. You will find the main temples close together: the Shiva Temple, Govinda Temple, and the Puthia Rajbari. October to March is the best season. The weather is cool and dry. Avoid April to June when temperatures cross 40°C. Monsoon (July to September) brings heavy rain, making paths muddy.
Mobile network coverage is good. Both Grameenphone and Robi work. ATMs are scarce in Puthia. Withdraw cash in Rajshahi before you come. There are no banks inside the complex.
Return to Rajshahi by bus or CNG before dark. The last bus from Puthia to Rajshahi leaves around 7:00 PM. Confirm the schedule with the driver.
