How to Travel to Bangabandhu Safari Park

How to Travel to Bangabandhu Safari Park

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park is in Gazipur, about 40 kilometers north of Dhaka. If you’re planning a day trip from the capital, the most practical way is by road. Buses for Gazipur leave from several points in Dhaka, including Mohakhali, Gulistan, and Sayedabad. Look for buses heading to Gazipur Chowrasta or Tongi. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic. From Gazipur Chowrasta, you can take a rickshaw or CNG autorickshaw to the park entrance. The fare is around 50-100 taka. Alternatively, you can hire a CNG directly from Dhaka, but that costs more. If you’re driving, take the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway, turn left at Gazipur Chowrasta, and follow the signs. The park is open from 9 AM to 5 PM, except on public holidays when it may be closed. Entry fee is 100 taka for adults and 50 taka for children. You can also buy tickets for the safari bus or the mini train inside. The park has a few food stalls, but it’s better to bring your own snacks. Mobile network coverage is good. Wear comfortable shoes and light clothing. Avoid weekends if you want fewer crowds. Return to Dhaka the same way; buses run until late evening.
